**A Typical Day for the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator**:

- Assist in the preparation and processing of full cycle semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salary employees in multiple locations and collective agreements
- Process employee terminations and records of employment
- Administration of employee group benefits and Company RRSP plans
- Investigate and resolve payroll related issues and discrepancies
- Prepare, review, and reconcile various payroll and benefit related reports for salaried and/or hourly employees, including monthly journal entries
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and account analysis for various payroll, and withholding accounts
- Perform monthly insurance updating online with company group benefit providers, and internally including calculations for monthly JV's. Maintain insurance files and monitor eligibility and changes as required
- Respond to employee payroll and benefit inquiries in a timely manner
- Process all employees written and verbal inquires such as verification of employment, unemployment compensation and work history
- Act as liaison between Company employees and various insurance and employee benefit providers.
- Other payroll-related tasks as required

**What You Bring**:

- Post secondary education in payroll is an asset
- 3-5 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certifications is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of UKG HRMS, current payroll practices and worker compensation programs
- Working knowledge of basic accounting
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
