We currently have a full time position for an Office Administrator at Cropo Funeral Chapel at 1442 Main Street. Cropo Funeral Chapel was founded in 1957, and proudly maintains a professional and safe work environment for all employees. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual who is great with people, and possesses strong communication and computer skills.

**SKILLS YOU MUST POSSESS**:

- Experience working in a busy office environment
- Excellent Telephone Manner, Professional Etiquette.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and computer scheduling.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Must be able to manage and prioritize daily tasks.
- Attention to details is a must, in serving our clientele.
- May require some flexibility in work schedules, although will be primarily Monday to Friday. 8:00 to 4:30 p.m.

**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
Perform a variety of clerical, scheduling duties and other tasks. Typical duties include answering phones and/or operating a switchboard, typing and/or word processing, scheduling appointments, gathering information, and maintaining accurate files and records.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Receives incoming telephone calls and assist callers that are often but not always in a state of crisis. Answering any questions or comments they may have and directing their calls to appropriate licensed team members.
- To greet and receive client families and visitors, maintaining a friendly yet empathic attitude.
- Receive payments, clothing and other personal items from client families.
- Provide information associated with services and maintaining the privacy of our client families.
- Maintain daily schedule and all pertinent information for seamless workdays.
- Assists in preparing obituary notices, including scanning of photos and proofreading and submitting within specific timelines.
- Maintains a comfortable environment, providing beverages and other amenities for our client families as needed.

**REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Administration Assistant Diploma would be an asset.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 6 months clerical and/or customer service experience.
- Past funeral home experience will be an asset, but not mandatory for the right individual.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Knowledge of office administrative procedures.
- Strong English skills, both oral and written.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment including multi-line phone system, computers, calculators, copiers, printers, and fax machines.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Professional communication skills both orally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Attention to detail and accurately take messages and information.
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
