Nature and Scope:
The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for the advertising, marketing, public relations, and sales plans, and sales reporting for the Aquatarium. This includes:
- Planning, developing, and directing multiple avenues of marketing strategies to drive sales
- Overseeing social media accounts and websites to engage existing customers and establish positive public relations
- Implementing search engine optimization (SEO) in online media
- Website development
- Researching trends and new marketing opportunities, and brainstorming ideas
- Coordinating and producing financial documents for advertising campaigns, such as budgets, estimates, and contracts
- Communicating and negotiating with ad agencies, employees, marketing staff, editors, influencers, writers
- Addressing problems and troubleshooting campaigns
- Analyzing customer feedback and campaign performance
- Media Relations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accomplish marketing and sales goals through managerial duties, such as recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching and disciplining employees
- Identify trends and determine system improvements to achieve marketing and sales operational goals
- Prepare an annual budget to meet marketing and sales financial goals
- Develop field sales action plans and advertising to accomplish marketing and sales goals
- Identify different consumer requirements to properly identify marketing opportunities
- Research and capitalize on different marketing opportunities to improve product marketability and profitability
- Understand Aquatarium’s target audience and developing key demographic and geography markers for marketing campaigns
- Anticipate new opportunities to maintain relationship with important clients
- Gather, investigate, and summarize data and trends to provide accurate information through reports
- Stay up to date on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, attending conferences and workshops, reading professional publications, maintaining a personal network, and joining professional organization.
- Collaborate with management teams to understand and establish sales and marketing goals and objectives
- Creating, analyzing, and incorporating visitor feedback and surveys to drive sales
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team and round table discussions to continuously establish metrics, analyze, and review current and future business activities and provide decision
- making information. On a proactive basis, discusses and recommend best course of action to the ED and the Management Team
- Partner with and support ED and Senior Leadership in advancing sales goals. Work closely with AQ team members to inspire greater participation in revenue generating objectives while capitalizing on other team members talents and knowledge.
Specific Job Duty Requirements:
- Solicitation and Booking of Group Tours & Events, Creation of Contracts and direct (i.e. Outlook calendars, Click-up) execution to other departments as necessary.
- International, National, Provincial & Regional, Local & Community Tradeshow, Seminar, Conference, Networking & Promotional Liaison.
- Offsite Community Engagement.
- FOH Policies, Procedures and codes of conduct updates and implementation.
- Promo material distribution.
- Event prep/logistics.
- Oversight of Graphic Design.
- Maintain & create more stakeholder relationships and communications.
- Partner with ongoing Brockville and regional events
- Partner with Economic Development.
- Advertising Program Co-Creation.
- Report to and represent AQ tourism to funding partner, BOD, and designated oversight committee.
- Coordinate local print, radio and television media & advertising.
- Coordinate rack card and tourism promo area & exchange.
- Community & Local and area Fair & Tradeshow liaison.
- Distributes Promo Passes.
- Tracks promo pass ROI.
- Develop packaging with Brockville partners.
- Social Media, Execution, inquires etc.
- Meet KPI/Sales goals.
- Review Audits and evaluations and implement changes to meet expectations.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in marketing, business, hospitality, tourism, or related education
- Work experience 3-5 years in related field, work in not-for profit/tourism setting preferable
- Analytical and process driven mindset
- Experience in administration, staff management, and project management
- Experience coordinating and implementing events including rentals, events, and fundraisers.
- Experience directing public relations, graphic identity, marketing materials.
- Familiarity with answering or directing inquiries.
- Experience working with Membership Files.
- Extensive experience with Social Media Platforms, CRM, Analytics, Google Ads, & Review sites.
