Fabrication Estimator

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Analyze project blueprints, specifications and drawings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work.
- Research, source and solicit accurate pricing for materials and equipment from suppliers and vendors to coordinate price packages.
- Execute detailed quantity take-offs and produce reliable cost estimates for both labor and materials.
- Prepare Data Sheet with all pertinent information required for design, costing and preparing quotes.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings within the project.
- Collaborate with managers to create project schedules and budgets.
- Compile and submit detailed bid packages and proposals.
- Track and monitor actual project costs against estimates throughout the project term.
- Provide regular updates on project costs and progress.
- Evaluate projects to devise successful bidding strategies.
- Collaborate with the project team to review final cost reports and record findings for future reference.

**-**Deliver comprehensive labor breakdowns for each area to aid in budget development and effective project management.
- Maintain strong understanding of industry standards, codes and regulations to ensure compliance in all estimates.

**Qualifications**:

- 2-5 years / proven experience as an Estimator in the manufacturing/construction industry
- Understanding of sound and vibration systems, materials and mitigation techniques would be an asset
- Excellent problem solving, mathematical and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks would be an asset
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills
