Laurier's Milton campus is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, and part of the Nanfan Treaty of 1701 between the British Crown and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. **Position Summary**: International Student Support, Dean of Students Office, fosters equitable learning environments in which all of Laurier’s International Students can thrive to their full potential. The vision is for all of Laurier International Students to discover their pathway through the rich, wholistic learning environment available to them as students at Laurier; to engage in community on and off campus, and to develop the skills they need to thrive throughout their degree and after graduation. The International Student Experience Project Coordinator is a full-time, temporary position for 18 months. The position will play a pivotal role in the revision and enhancement of the experience of international students,, at time when this cohort at Wilfrid Laurier University is changing. With the recent growth in international graduate students and international student presence on the Brantford campus, the position will be involved in organizing, and delivering a variety of new events and programs aimed at supporting these changing cohorts of international students. This position has a university-wide mandate and is based at the Waterloo Campus. The incumbent will be required to engage in regular interpersonal interactions and collaboration with departments at the Waterloo, Brantford, Kitchener and Milton campuses. Special attention is given to ensure equitable service delivery across all locations. **Accountabilities**: Key Responsibilities: **1. Student Engagement and Event Planning**: - Develop, plan, and execute a wide range of intentional events and programs that address the needs and interests of international students. - Create programs and activities that foster a sense of belonging and community among international students, encouraging participation in campus life. - Collaborate with various campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of events. - Work with the Administration and Communications Assistants within International Student Support to coordinate logistics for events, including booking venues, arranging transportation, and securing necessary supplies and equipment. - Plan and execute events that celebrate diversity and promote intercultural understanding within the campus community - Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students through active engagement and community-building activities. - Encourage leadership and active participation among international students in campus activities and organizations. **2. Program Development**: - Design and implement international student orientation, programming, workshops, and seminars that assist international students in their transition to university life. - Collaborate with WLIC initiatives and programming to support ease of transition of students transferring campuses and entering 2nd year - Collaborate with the Faculty of Graduate and Post Doctoral Studies; Student Success and Retention; and the Graduate Students’ Association to develop and implement international graduate student orientation programming opportunities - Create cultural exchange opportunities that promote cross-cultural understanding and engagement among the student body. - Assist in tailori
