We are currently recruiting for a full-time Supervisor, Distribution Centre Operations to support our Distribution Centre team in Oakville, ON.

Position Overview

The Supervisor, Distribution Centre Operations will ensure that there is a safe working environment for all employees while focusing on quality, accuracy and productivity targets being met or exceeded. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for the development of the Distribution Lead personnel and an employee group on a shift that operates six days a week, in a modern 100,000 square foot, Logical Unit of Measure picking operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment for all employees
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and identify opportunities for improvement in health and safety including root cause analysis
- Lead Team Shift Meetings daily, or as required throughout the day
- Ensure that production and accuracy targets for the operation are met/exceeded while identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement including root cause analysis of errors and misses.
- Develop Distribution Leads to excel in their roles (including developing Captains and floor level Associates)
- Plan, organize and participate in daily warehouse operation and activities
- Motivate others and promote collaboration and accountability to meet team goals
- Build and maintain trust with direct and indirect business partners in regards to business processes and decision making
- Ensure that Warehouse Associates are fully trained in all areas of their responsibilities and that training programs are followed and up to date
- In cooperation with the DC Leadership team and Distribution Leads, determine staffing levels and assigned work, including vacation planning and planned absences
- Evaluate the performance of team members and communicate feedback regarding job performance and performance expectations on a monthly basis
- Take responsibility for first line disciplinary action i.e. verbal warnings and recommend further disciplinary action
- Carry out annual employee performance appraisals
- Ensure a high level of inventory accuracy at the SKU and location level
- Ensure that the customer deliveries are shipped according to the established schedule
- Participate in distribution project teams
- Ensure the warehouse is in a clean, safe and orderly condition
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills
- College Diploma in related discipline (Business, Logistics) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of management/supervisory experience in a multi-shift distribution centre
- Previous experience in a Tier One Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning, Warehouse/Transportation Management System (ERP/MRP/WMS/TMS) environment (preferably SAP) an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Previous work experience in a Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) environment an asset
- A license operating various types of powered equipment is a requirement
- Ability to provide strong and motivational leadership to staff in a team environment
- Ability to develop the team to meet/exceed goals in areas of heal
