Construction Planner Co-op Student

**Position Summary**

**Typical Duties (may include but are not limited to)**
- Work with project management, engineering, operations, commissioning and construction to understand their requirements in work packages.
- Under the guidance of a Construction Planner, develop project execution plans, work plans, and other related documents prior to project execution.
- Develop OOM, and SP estimates for all disciplines as well as develop estimates for business development opportunities for peer review.
- Participate in site visits to ascertain construction requirements/limitations.
- Provide input into project budget and forecasting.
- Under the guidance of a Construction Planner and Construction Lead, work with groups to create and maintain appropriate work schedules and support the development of documentation for handover to the Construction Leads.
- Participate in constructability reviews of engineering designs and project construction schedules.
- Support the review of contractor technical submissions for compliance and prepare recommendation documents.
- Co-lead, organize, and facilitate all the key stakeholder execution readiness review meetings.
- Provide feedback and support the constant improvement to the construction planning processes.
- Provide engineering/technical feedback and lessons learned from best construction practices and constructability.
- Other duties of a similar nature

**Minimum Education Requirements**
- Currently enrolled in or completed a Technical Diploma in a related discipline form a recognized institute of technology, or
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in a related field or discipline at a recognized institute.

**Minimum Experience Requirements**
- Basic understanding of the Electrical System
- Completion of first year courses in a related discipline or field of technology

**Working Conditions**

40 hours per week. Office-based, may be required to work in field.
