Royal City Basketball Club is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as recreational level basketball coaches. As a coach, you will have the opportunity to inspire and mentor young athletes in the Guelph, Cambridge, and Kitchener-Waterloo areas. This is an exciting chance to contribute to the development of our players' basketball skills and help instill values such as discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and conduct basketball training sessions for recreational-level players.
- Create engaging practice drills and exercises that focus on skill development, fundamentals, and game strategies.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages growth and enjoyment of the sport.
- Provide constructive feedback to players and support their individual development.
- Attend team meetings, parent meetings, and organizational events as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and games.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to improve coaching techniques and program quality.
- Represent the Royal City Basketball Club with professionalism and enthusiasm.

**Requirements**:

- Previous coaching experience in basketball is preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of the game of basketball, including rules, strategies, and fundamentals.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with players of various ages and skill levels.
- Positive attitude and passion for teaching and mentoring young athletes.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends for practices, games, and tournaments
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $16.55-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 20 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
