About Us
Salish Soils is more than a soil company. We’re a movement, restoring balance to the land, regenerating waste, and creating real opportunities for our community. Founded by shíshálh entrepreneur Aaron Joe, we’re an Indigenous-owned business rooted in circular economy practices and Indigenous values.
We're looking for a Community Marketing Coordinator to help carry our brand forward. Someone who’s as comfortable capturing a story in the field as they are writing a post, replying to a customer, or showing up at a community event.
About the Role
You’ll be the bridge between the work we do and the people who need to hear about it. You’ll support content creation, social media, events, website updates and customer engagement, while helping maintain the strong brand voice and community presence Salish Soils is known for.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to grow their skills, tell meaningful stories, and work with a team that cares about making a difference.
What You’ll Do
- Create and schedule social content across Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin (posts, reels, stories)
- Engage our online and in-person community
- Support events and pop-ups, helping with logistics, promotion, and storytelling on the ground
- Gather and share content from across the site
- Draft newsletters, flyers, and marketing materials
- Track basic analytics and engagement to understand what’s working and where we can improve
- Work with our marketing manager to develop long term strategies across channels

You Might Be a Good Fit If You
- Are a strong communicator and creative thinker
- Feel confident on social media and have a good eye for photos and short-form video
- Enjoy connecting with people, from customers and community members to coworkers and collaborators
- Are organized, curious, and willing to learn
- Are comfortable working independently but thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven team
- Care about sustainability, Indigenous leadership, and community-building
- Experience in marketing, communications, events, or social media is a bonus, but we’re more interested in your attitude, values, and willingness to grow.

Compensation
- $47,000-52,000 annual salary, based on experience
- Full-time, 4-day work week (approx. 32 hours)
- Paid statutory holidays and personal days
- Benefits
- Staff discounts and access to soil, compost, and produce
- Opportunity for growth as the role evolves

To Apply
Salish Soils is proudly Indigenous-owned and based on shíshálh territory. We encourage Indigenous applicants, people of colour, LGBTQ2S+ folks, and members of underrepresented communities to apply.
