Our corporate Home Furniture Store located in downtown St. Jacobs has an exciting opportunity for a
**Retail Furniture Store Assistant Manager**. Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, you would be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the retail store, leading a successful team to achieve sales, inventory management, merchandising, planning advertising, and promotions. You would also take a key role in creating an exceptional customer experience.
- **Must be available for any of the store hours including weekends.**

**What you’ll do**:

- Provide guidance, motivation, and supervision to Team Members.
- Maintain category management, assist with product assortment, and set-up seasonal displays.
- Coordinate promotional events i.e., Customer Appreciation, Garage Sales, etc.
- Demonstrate and deliver an exceptional customer experience through team training and education.
- Prepare monthly staff work schedule and assist with staff meetings.
- Assist in selecting and orientating new team members.
- Assist with entering working hours of team members into payroll system (TimeZone).

**What we’re looking for**:

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years retail sales, execution, and operations. Experience working in a Furniture Store would be considered an asset.
- Basic understanding of retail key performance indicators and budget processes.
- Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task, adapt and cope in challenging situations.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve common goals. Supervisory/leadership skills an asset.
- Familiar with POS in-store system and other retail software.
- Working knowledge of Home Hardware systems and services would be considered an asset.
- Willingness to work weekends and extra hours when required.
