**Maintenance Manager**:
Location: Pickering Facility (Aluminum Casting and Extrusion Plant)

Reporting To: Plant Manager

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team in Pickering. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, completing, and tracking electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical activities, with a focus on root cause identification and elimination. This role oversees all preventative maintenance programs and implements new technologies or equipment modifications.

Core Responsibilities:

- Reduce equipment failures and production downtime.
- Assist in controlling facility and operational costs.
- Optimize equipment and facility performance.
- Manage maintenance staff and ensure conformance to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Improve decision-making capabilities via the collection and review of quality maintenance data.

**Day-to-Day Activities**:

- Supervise the maintenance staff, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Create daily work action plans for scheduled staff.

**Key Competencies**:

- Health and safety practices and legislation compliance.
- Project management skills, including scope management, budgeting, and workflow principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Technical competence in mechanics, hydraulics, electric motors, and welding.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

- College diploma in Mechanics or Engineering or related experience as an electrician or millwright.
- Five years in planning and managing maintenance operations in a heavy industry setting.
- Ability to operate, repair power supply and controls, and rebuild electric motors.
- Thorough understanding of hydraulic pumps, seals, cylinders, and controls.
- Working knowledge of welding techniques, limitations, and failure modes.
- Experience with predictive maintenance management - component lifespan, fatigue, and inspection.
- Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft-based programs and maintenance programs.
