Phoenix Technology Services is a progressive and innovative Calgary based Directional Drilling Company. Driven by our client’s needs, we are committed to providing more efficient and cost-effective drilling operations.
We have an opening for a Well Planner based out of our Calgary head office location. The Well Planner is accountable for providing technical information and support to marketing personnel in the form of initial well plans, plots, and completion reports used in quoting and planning directional and horizontal drilling services.
**Responsibilities also include**:
- Prepare morning surveys and updates, distributing to client representatives, marketing representative, and operations coordinators as requested.
- Update customers as to the status of drilling operations and respond to customer queries as required.
- Develop initial well plans for quotes to customers by inputting geological, geographical, and drilling target data into well planning software.
- Build plans and plots on customer supplied parameters and department database for sales representatives and operations department, to be used by field personnel in performing directional and horizontal drilling services.
- Perform a feedback service for field personnel with the purpose of addressing down-hole issues and problems as they develop.
- Receive well completion data from field personnel, generate completion reports, prepare end of well reports for client submissions.
- Ensure Final Surveys and completion documentation follow Government Requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Amend any returned data deficiencies.
- Perform electronic filing and ensure all well files contain complete records through the start and end of each job.
- Input and maintain accurate information within Fieldcap.
- Assist technical marketing representatives in addressing technical issues raised by potential and existing customers.
- Build the Company’s internal job information database as a tool for future initial well planning and plotting.
- Maintain a computerized backup system to ensure information can be retrieved and assist with the Compass database clean up.
