Part-time Bookkeeper

**Company Overview**: Join our dynamic team at Calgary Urban Equities, a well-established personal holding company with 2-3 subsidiaries, engaged in real estate development, private investment, marketing services and lifestyle services through several wholly owned companies. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to support our financial operations. If you are proficient in Intuit QuickBooks, possess experience working with small or startup enterprises, and are comfortable working both in-person and remotely, please contact us with your resume and cover letter as soon as possible.
**Position: Part-time Bookkeeper**
**Location: Remote**
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and update financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Provide support during audits and tax preparation processes, including GST.
- Contribute to financial planning and budgeting activities as needed.
- Other administrative duties as needed and mutually agreed.
**Requirements**:
- Independent contractor with access to, and proficiency in Intuit QuickBooks software.
- Minimum 4 years previous experience as a bookkeeper, preferably with small or startup enterprises.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity.
- Flexibility to work in-person or remotely - Only Calgary-based bookkeepers need apply.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Willingness to accept other administrative tasks which may be considered typical for small businesses or startups.
**Schedule**: This is a part-time position, with approximately 10-20 hours per month. The schedule can be flexible to accommodate other commitments.
**Deadline**: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
