**Assistant Director of Care (RPN)**
The Assistant Director of Care (RPN) supports the Director of Care in overseeing and managing day-to-day care operations within the facility. This role involves leadership, administration, and coordination of care programs to ensure high-quality services are provided to residents or patients. The Assistant Director of Care will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and collaborate closely with other departments to deliver exceptional care.
**This FULL - TIME role is every other weekend and Evenings 10:00am - 6:00pm or as needed. Subject to change.**
- Listens, manages, and responds to Resident and Family needs using compassion and positive communication skills
- Develops, and maintains a plan of care that meets the physical, mental, emotional, social, and needs of our Residents
- Responsible for creating and monitoring auditing reports, annual fall
- Facilitates care conferences
- Available for consultation and provides guidance in finding resolutions.
- Develops and implements ongoing programs for Educational Programs for the care team.
- Identifies performance improvement needs and seeks out resources.
- Develops IPAC protocols and Quality Management Programs.
- Ensures staff are competent with the administration of medication in accordance with the policy of the Retirement Residence.
**Must be willing to cover all shifts when nurses, care teams calls in sick.**
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
- Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including courses or experience in Retirement Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care or Long-Term Care.
- **MUST have a driver’s license/ access to car to do assessments in hospital/ care settings**:
- **MUST have experience with Point Click Care**:
- Previous managerial experience in the Retirement Home setting
- Competent with RHRA legislation.
- Proficiency with computer skills
**Education**:Registered Practical Nurse, with current registration with the Colleges of Nurses in Ontario. Gerontology back ground and asset
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
