Respite Caregiver

Respite Caregivers are contractors who work in the City of Vancouver. They provide a break to parents of children with developmental disabilities from caregiving responsibilities and a fun, safe and supervised outing/activity for the child. Schedules are based on the caregiver's availability and the family's needs, but usually entail a 4-6 hour long session on a weekend day, or after school for about 3 hours once or twice a week for 1:1 work with a child. Caregivers are required to have a clear criminal record, an Emergency First Aid with CPR certification, references and some training or experience with intellectual disabilities.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3-6 per week
**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
COVID-19 considerations:
Caregivers are required to wear a mask and wash hands frequently during work. They may also be requested to declare (and provide proof if needed) their C-19 vaccination status.
