Are you available for regular ongoing work 3 to 6 hours/week and have some relevant experience/training supporting an individual with developmental disabilities to do fun activities in the community? If so, we would love to hear from you

Respite Caregivers are contractors who work in the City of Vancouver. They provide a break to parents of individuals with developmental disabilities and a fun, safe and supervised outing/activity for the individual. Schedules are based on the caregiver's availability and the family's needs, but usually entail a 3-6 hour long outing on a weekday or weekend day or about 3 hours once or twice a week.

Caregivers are required to have a clear criminal record, an Emergency First Aid with CPR certification, references and some training or experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.

**We are currently hiring a caregiver for a gentleman with Down syndrome who lives in East Vancouver. He requires assistance to attend Special Olympics activities in Vancouver and Burnaby. Fall schedule is Mondays and Thursdays, 3 pm to 7 pm.**

**Please provide a cover letter along with your resume, explaining your experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Please note a cover letter is required.**

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 3-6 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Weekday afternoons

COVID-19 considerations:
Caregivers are required to wash hands frequently during work. Masks may be required at family’s request. Caregivers may also be requested to declare (and provide proof if needed) their C-19 vaccination status.
