The City of Port Coquitlam is currently seeking a positive and energetic individual with strong attention to detail to work in our Finance Department as an Accounting Clerk II. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Services Services, the incumbent will perform a variety of accounting functions in the processing and routine analysis of transactions and verification of various accounts.

**Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to**:

- Conduct routine accounting analysis; process a variety of accounting transactions; review supporting paperwork submitted for accuracy, appropriate authorization and compliance with applicable policies or regulations;
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare journal entries; prepare and issue invoices; prepare and maintain a variety of records, files and specific year-end accounting working papers;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts; and
- Provide information and assistance by responding to inquiries from a variety of customers.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods and principles involved in the posting, balancing, checking and processing of a variety of data;
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to inventories, receivables, financial instruments, debt, capital assets, and deferred revenues;
- You have completed a two-year accounting program with some related experience;
- You have the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization;
- You exude positive energy and believe that anything is possible.
