**Position Overview**:
**The Role**

As a Childcare Assistant, you will be primarily responsible for providing:
**_Supervision and Interaction:_**
- Engage with children in age-appropriate activities and play.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in your care.
- Foster positive interactions and relationships with children.

**_Daily Care:_**
- Create a clean and organized environment in play and rest areas.
- Encourage and assist children in developing self-help skills.
- Preparation of snacks for children.

**_Communication:_**
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers regarding their child.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

**_Learning Support:_**
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate educational activities.
- Assisting Teachers with educational curriculum.
- Support the implementation of the daily schedule and routine.
- Encourage curiosity and a love for learning through play and exploration.
- Act as the school's ambassador.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.

**_Qualifications_**
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.
- Previous experience in a childcare setting or Montessori field is preferred.

Valid Certificate in Standard Level First Aid and Level C Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their development.
- Complete a 40-hour course related to early learning and childcare within the first year of employment.
- Canadian citizenship and/or legally permitted to work in Canada
- Clear Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Check, and Vulnerable Sector Search.

**_Desired:_**
- Early learning and Childcare coursework.
- Montessori teaching credential from a recognized Montessori training program.
