The Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Recreation Leader II to assist our team supporting programs and special events for youth. This is a temporary, part-time assignment of approximately 4-5 months working 21 hours per week.

This supervisory position will assist the Recreation Coordinator and will work with staff, participants and volunteers in planning and implementing programs, initiatives, special events for youth. The Recreation Leader II will provide direction to Youth Leaders and program instructors while ensuring the safety of participants.

Hours of work for this position will include weekday afternoon and some weekend afternoon as well as evening shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

- Grade 12 education and minimum 6 months related post-secondary courses in recreation plus minimum one year of related experience working with youth in a recreational facility
- Experience supervising staff
- Proficiency with computers (preferably experience with MS Office)
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong team building, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience with Perfect Mind would be an asset
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
- A valid BC Driver's License
