**Job Description **Recreation Leader II (RPT)

The Recreation Department is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist our team supporting programs and special events for children aged newborn to 5 years. This is a regular, part-time position.

This supervisory position will assist the Recreation Coordinator and will work with staff, participants in planning and implementing special events and programs for children aged newborn to 5 years. The Recreation Leader II will provide direction to program instructors and support staff while ensuring the safety of all participants.

This position will work Monday through Friday with flexibility to adjust schedule for special events. Some evening work may be required.

**Basic**

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 education and minimum 6 months related post-secondary courses in recreation plus minimum one year of related experience working with children in a recreational facility
- Experience supervising staff and working with parents of preschool aged children
- Proficiency with computers (preferably experience with MS Office)
- Experience coaching or instructing children and the ability to instruct some programs as needed
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Strong team-building, leadership and communication skills
- Standard First Aid with CPR -C and AED
- Experience with the CLASS or Perfect Mind registration and facility booking software would be an asset
- A valid BC Driver's License - access to a vehicle required to drive to various centers throughout Port Moody
