The City of Port Moody is hiring Summer Playground Leaders. This position will lead activities and supervise children at various facilities throughout the city. Leaders will be involved in sports, arts and outdoor recreational activities.
Playground Leaders are responsible for creating, planning and implementing weekly themes, games and various recreational activities for school aged children in a day camp environment. Leaders will ensure the safety of all participants, work closely with volunteers and communicate effectively with parents.
The position runs from Monday to Friday, July 2 -August 22, 2025, with no time off permitted during this time frame. There will be mandatory training and planning dates at the end of June.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Grade 12 and minimum six months experience working with children (ages 5-11 years) in a recreational setting
- Current Standard Level I First Aid and CPR C
- Experience working with children with special needs would be an asset
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong leadership and communication skills
