**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the Communications and Community Engagement team to develop and execute social media strategies that align with the City of Brantford's goals and objectives.
- Create compelling and visually appealing content for various social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIN, TikTok and YouTube.
- Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries in a professional manner

Conduct research and stay updated on social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to provide recommendations for optimizing our online presence.
- Attend community engagement events to promote the City of Brantford's initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather content and stories for social media posts, highlighting achievements, events, and success stories
- Utilize analytics tools to track and report on social media performance, engagement metrics, and user demographics.
- Provide support in organizing and maintaining digital assets, including images, videos, and other media files.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
- Strong knowledge and understanding of major social media platforms and their respective best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to adapt the tone and style of writing for different audiences.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and familiarity with social media analytics tools.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team, taking initiative and showing a proactive approach.
