Medical Office Assistant/admin Assistant

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:
- Greets patients at a courteous, timely, efficient and orderly fashion to maintain the patient flow according to the time schedule.
- Manages internal and external referrals
- Registers patients and obtains all necessary demographic information and accurately input into the computer system
- Coordinates with other team members and maintains the patient flow between the waiting area and examination rooms
- Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
- Sorts and delivers mail, medical records, and other correspondence.
- Brief history of patients including height, weight, and others
- Assists with OHIP billing as assigned
- Prepares exam rooms and test rooms
- Prepares patients in exam/test room.
- Maintains physician’s schedule/calendar and assists with organizing his paperwork and office.
- Assists Clinic Manager with administrative tasks
**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Maintain accurate medical records, reports and files as directed.
- Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
- Assist in promoting and engaging community partners and health care providers
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Work as a team member within the imaging centre and physician clinic.
- Document work processes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:
- College diploma in Medical Administration or equivalent.
**Experience**:
- A minimum of 1 year experience in similar position or environment
**Skills**:
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to adapt to new technology and fast-pace environment
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
- Excellent communication skills.
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: depends on experience
COVID-19 considerations:
Plexi glass barrier installed at reception. Extensive infection control protocol is in place. PPE is provided to all staff.
