**Job Overview**:
The QA Technician is responsible for the quality of the product and packaging that is sold to consumers. The main areas of focus include quality of the production process, maintenance of standard processes to prevent adulteration or contamination of product, testing of product attributes and packaging integrity, regulatory compliance, and facility sanitation. The incumbent will also provides direction to hourly and salaried non-exempt lab technicians and sanitation workers.

**This position must be open to flexible shifts and will be provided considerable training and development.**

**Shift & Location**:

- Night Shift - 11 PM-7 AM
- Rivermede Facility - 370 N Rivermede Rd, Concord, ON L4K 3N2

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical leadership in the areas of food safety and quality systems
- Ability to provide leadership to the to the plant on all product safety programs and issues
- Accountable for product quality by conducting regular checks as per procedure and educating production personnel on product quality standards (if needed)
- Accountable for ingredient and packaging meeting specifications prior to use in production
- Responsible for food safety within the facility
- Responsible to follow Give and Go’s quality and food safety standards
- Analyze and maintain the quality of all products, as per set procedures
- Performs audits to assure compliance to GMP and company standards
- Responsible for ensuring the highest level in product and package quality while operating within product usage and budgetary guidelines
- Work as a role model for safety in the workplace
- Responsible for recommending changes in manufacturing practices and or production flow to ensure product safety
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Recipes for Success**:

- Associate’s or Bachelors degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline
- 1-3 years quality assurance experience in food manufacturing is a must
- Superior leadership skills along with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate and follow-up
- Demonstrated ability to identify potential issues and resolve complex problems
- A team player with high personal energy level & resilience
- Must have reliable transportation to travel within Give & Go plant locations
