The Director of Commercial Lines will be responsible for working alongside and reporting to the President to deliver the strategic vision of the brokerage. **RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Leading, driving and supporting commercial lines operations through the company’s overall strategy, operating plan, administrative budgets and processes.
- Supporting the company in establishing and maintaining strong market relationships and program development.
- Collaborating with the Vice President on the budget, goal setting and annual compensation increases.
- Exhibiting leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, accountability and collaboration.
- Performing financial measurements and analysis to evaluate and establish the operational matrix assessing the company’s business operations and complexity to determine/forecast hiring decisions and allocation of compensation budget according to business needs.
- Educate the Commercial team on new products offered by various markets and assist the team with finding the correct markets for hard-to-place risks.
- Ensure that our EPIC client management system is audited, kept up to date, and is generating reports to guide our client experience.
- Strategically identify problems/threats, analyzing risks and assessing outcomes related to potential solutions.
- Leading, managing, and establishing performance expectations for multiple high performing teams in the commercial dept.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing team members to achieve desired personal and organizational objectives.
- Assisting in mergers and acquisitions.
- Other duties as may be required.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of seven (7) years of commercial experience working on multiple lines, preferably in an insurance brokerage.
- Bachelor degree in Business Management or B.A. Economics.
- CAIB, CRM, CIP, FCIP or CPIB designation an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance brokerage business practices and processes.
- Understand how products and services impact client needs and develop process to improve quality.
- Positive experience leading a team is an asset, but the desire to lead is more important.
- A team player who is friendly, and collaborative.
- Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills required to affect change and to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization.
- Previous experience working with EPIC is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $90,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
