**As a Human Resources Coordinator, YOU Will Be Responsible For**
- Assisting with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Creating, updating, and maintaining confidential employee records and other confidential HR related files (paper and digital).
- Participating in and providing support with highly confidential labour relations matters including but not limited to employee investigations, discipline, terminations, grievances, disability leaves, etc.
- Assisting the leadership team with performance management process.
- Assisting with developing, updating, and maintaining job descriptions, HR processes, procedures, and policies.
- Providing general administrative support with scheduling meetings, preparing information and agendas for HR related meetings and events.
- Providing support in the research, design and implementation of HR tools, resources, and initiatives to achieve higher levels of effectiveness and service delivery in the organization.
- Providing support in relation to interpretation and administration of the collective bargaining agreement, HR policies and applicable legislation.
- Conducting audits of payroll, benefits and other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Coordinating training sessions and seminars.
- Assisting with onboarding and off-boarding of employees.
- Producing and submitting reports on general HR activity.
- Assisting with payroll, benefits, and ad-hoc HR projects.
- Keeping up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Supporting other assigned functions.

**What We Need From YOU**
- Education: A post secondary degree or diploma from a recognized business course with a concentration in human resources.
- Experience: Minimum two years human resources experience; with at least one year in a unionized workplace.
- Human Resources Acumen: Knowledge of principals and concepts of human resource management.
- Developing Others: Practices a ‘hands-on’ approach when directing employees and empowers employees to be successful through training, developing, and coaching. Holds people accountable by ensuring they meet individual and organizational objectives in an appropriate manner. Monitors employee development plans and ensures alignment with department and company goals.
- Technology knowledge: Demonstrated experience working with systems, (i.e., Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams SharePoint). Strong understanding of HRIS and is motivated to drive new initiatives and support process efficiencies.
- Project planning skills: Excellent project management and coordinating skills with the proven ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a rapidly changing environment. Able to set priorities for self and overall department by creating a focus, eliminating roadblocks, and knowing what will help or hinder goal accomplishment. Manages project deadlines and assigns work based on employees’ abilities and competence.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills: Proven ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships to resolve conflicts and encourage a strong supportive culture.
- Analytical skills: Ability to visualize, articulate, conceptualize, or solve problems by making decisions that are logical and reasonable given the available information.
- Innovative: Detail oriented with a commitment to innovation.
- Insurance acumen: Basic knowledge of the insurance industry would be beneficial.
