**Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness Coordinator**
**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, days (with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital).
**Status**: Part-Time (new vacancy)
**Pay Range**: $57.72- $67.85 Hourly
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Coordinator is instrumental in the development and oversight of organization-wide Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellness programs. Working with a cross-section of leaders, staff and organizational partners, they will collaborate with Health and Safety leads to develop and administer processes that build a culture of health and safety, enhance health, safety, and wellness awareness, and ensure organization‐wide compliance with health & safety legislation. The Coordinator demonstrates leadership through promotion of change, facilitation of effective responses, and the creation of health and safety initiatives in collaboration with members of the Health Care Team and Management Team including: data collection and reporting program statistics and healthy work environment standards; coordinating and delivering training, reviewing organizational benchmarks and trends to identify opportunities for prevention; and acting as a support to applicable internal committees.
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
- Occupational Health and Safety Certification Required, or equivalent combination of education and experience with the commitment to complete certifications.
- A Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.Sc.N) or Healthcare related undergraduate degree preferred, with membership in good standing with CNO or relevant college.
**Experience**:
- Five (5) years demonstrated experience in a Health and Safety role, with a primary focus on health and safety responsibilities.
- Recent experience in a health care setting preferred.
**Required Skills**:
- Excellent leadership abilities and effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence change and convey information with tact and discretion;
- Subject matter expertise in Occupational Health and Safety best practices and sound understanding of relevant workplace legislation with ability to communicate and convey information and knowledge to range of different audiences.
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook).
- Demonstrated strong organizational, time management and analytical skills;
- Demonstrates innovation and creativity in delivery of presentations and facilitation activities;
- Knowledge of Adult Education and Project Coordination an asset;
- Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
**Other Pertinent Conditions**:
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and is self-directed while possessing the ability to work in a collaborative manner.
