**The Team**
- The Supply Chain department is looking for a Procurement Manager to oversee our team of skilled and dedicated buyers to ensure there is a robust and uninterrupted material supply to satisfy our manufacturing, field services, and corporate requirements. The Supply Chain department is focused on getting the right material for the right cost at the right time. Nanometrics designs and manufactures complex electro-mechanical devices, and procurement often involves sourcing custom mechanics and electronic assemblies, as well as third-party accessories.
**The Role**
- Ensure purchase orders for materials and services, required across all departments, are being executed in a timely manner, meeting cost targets and required delivery schedules
- Identify and mitigate existing risks in the supply chain, including single-sourced scenarios and under-performing suppliers
- Continuously improve and implement cost-savings initiatives
- Identify opportunities to reduce lead times, optimize inventory, and improve two-way communication with our supply partners
- Ensure supplier on-time delivery is enabling departments to meet their objectives. Identify where this is not occurring, understand root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with Quality and R&D on providing feedback to suppliers, and holding them accountable to maintain world-class quality
- Focus on TCO (total cost of ownership) of purchased parts, including purchase price, logistics costs, quality costs, and inventory considerations
- Analyze existing inventory to support strategic sourcing and inventory reduction initiatives.
- Develop robust lines of communication with other departments
- Ensure quality is engrained in all employees and is part of of Nanometrics culture
- Ensure a healthy and safe production environment
- Provide leadership, guidance and opportunities for development to staff
- Other reasonable duties as required
**What You Bring**
- Bachelor’s Degree required (e.g. B.Comm., B.Sc., etc.)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain/Procurement roles
- 3+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable experience in Six Sigma/LEAN manufacturing methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of planning, ERP, and quality systems
- Experience in a high-mix, low volume manufacturing environment; specifically with high-tech products
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills
- APICS certification would be an asset
- Financial analysis experience would be an asset
