Production Supervisor

**Job Overview**:
Under the general supervision of the Production Manager; the **Production Supervisor**: will be responsible for supervision, coordination and scheduling of all the activities of workers.

**Shifts**:
**Day shift: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm**:

- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers.
- Identify, investigate, correct, and document potential issues and safety problems.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments or shifts.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Confer with management and/or staff to resolve worker issues and complaints.
- Enforce safety and food safety standards.
- Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale.
- Increase worker efficiency and production rates.
- Monitor and assess employee performance.
- Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met.
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy.
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
- Coordinate with QC supervisor and ensure warehouse is arranged properly and in most effective way to maximize utilization of available space
- Ensure FIFO is maintained, and WMS is followed
- Be in charge of infestation control program by using proven methods like fogging, fumigation, freezing, co2 treatment
- Work with QA team to ensure Inspection of Raw material, Product Monitoring & Verification (e.g. Metal Detector Calibration, Product Labelling etc ), sanitation procedures are followed in warehouse, and production areas
- Prepare production and other reports.
- Approve employee timesheets and time off requests

**Requirements**:

- Post Secondary Education
- College/university,
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervision role and the successful development of manufacturing and operations personnel (preferably Food and beverage, consumer packaged goods)
- Thorough knowledge of plant and machine operations with emphasis on processing, packaging and sanitation;
- Knowledgeable with GMP, HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and requirements.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
- Lean and/or Six Sigma experience and/or certification is a plus
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, possess high degree of initiative, and works well under pressure;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis software
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Passion for team building and strong conflict resolution skills
- Extensive knowledge of the entire supply chain as well as inventory management principles
