Montréal, Canada Acrylic Robotics Full time

**About Us**

Acrylic Robotics is a Montreal-based robotics startup building technology to make fine art accessible to all. The company’s robotics and AI-based tools capture artists’ brushstrokes and replay them with robotic arms using real paint on canvas, allowing visual artists to release limited-edition, NFT-authenticated collections of painted art at affordable prices. Acrylic has won Centech's top Tech Innovation prize and has been named one of Canada's “Top 10 Ventures to Watch” by Next’s GRIT Magazine.

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking to onboard a full-time business development intern eager to play a key role in shaping what tech at Acrylic looks like. We want to find someone as invested in Acrylic as we are who is eager to learn and grow alongside the company. This is a paid 4-8 month internship with the potential for a continued position if the fit is right. You will be working directly alongside our founder and joining a young, fun, multidisciplinary team of artists, engineers and art-lovers. Your work will be primarily in-person, with the possibility for remote work depending on the project and whether it requires contact with our physical prototypes or not.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

As a business development intern at Acrylic, you’ll spend the term working directly with our business development team: honing our value proposition, pitching to clients, managing relationships with artists and galleries and executing our go-to-market strategy. You’ll get the chance to work directly with our CEO throughout the term and will get to audit (and participate in) high-level strategy meetings. You’ll be wearing many hats and the ability to learn quickly and figure things out on the fly is valued more than any particular formal academic training.
- Market research, market analysis, competitor analysis, customer interviews and primary research synthesis: designing and conducting specific market research methods such as focus groups and questionnaires
- Copywriting, marketing materials, website and social media content creation, building and editing strategic business plans
- Building a sales pipeline and CRM system from the ground up
- Outreach to potential clients, building relationships with artists, galleries, art-buyers and other stakeholders
- Meeting with clients on-site, leading product demos, going to trade shows and startup events
- Basic product management — working with technical project managers to help build timelines, set milestones, arrange for user feedback and demos; working with project managers to establish product limitations, timelines and milestones

**Knowledge and Skills — Job Specific**

Baseline:

- Excellent written & oral communication skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset & strong executor — you can come up with an action plan and make it happen, through hell or high water.
- Previous startup experience — you know what it feels like to personally bring a project from idea to reality (doesn’t have to be high scale: tell me about the time you started a lemonade stand.)

Nice-to-haves:

- Prior experience in fine art (you’re an artist, you’ve worked at a gallery, you collect, you’re tied into the art ecosystem in some way)
- Finance, accounting, formal business background or practical training
- Marketing, content creation, branding strategy, etc.
- Product management experience
- Previous sales and customer relations experience
- Creative: photography, videography, graphic design, etc.
- Interest in art, tech, NFTs, blockchain, digital art, etc.

**Knowledge and Skills — General**

Soft skills/Baseline:

- Communication skills: you can explain what you’re working on and why it’s important to Acrylic’s mission to a variety of audiences. You can translate between business goals and tech requirements.
- Grit, resourcefulness, creative problem-solving: you can always find a solution to something, even if it’s not perfect, and you’re able to think outside the box.
- Entrepreneurial/growth mindset: you love the thrill of continuous improvement, you’re constantly seeking out new ways of doing things and you push boundaries.
- Self-starter, autonomy: you can take on a project, scope it and get to work. You prefer work environments where you have a significant amount of responsibility and autonomy and are able to self-manage and make key decisions.
- Curiosity: you’re a forever learner with an inquisitive mind who wants to understand how everything works. You’re not afraid to pick up a textbook and teach yourself a new skill that’s needed that falls outside your pre-existing knowledge base.

- **Fonctions et responsabilités**
