Restaurant Server

DEV Hotel and Conference Centre is looking for an outstanding individual to join us in the position of **Restaurant Server**

The DEV facility is home to the largest hotel and conference center in Eastern Ontario. The site is located on 75 acres of indoor and outdoor space in Cornwall, Ontario and is ideal for gatherings and conferences of any size. The hotel offers over 500 guest rooms, as well as 70,000 square feet of dynamic and flexible meeting space. For decades, the facility has continued to evolve and is the site of choice for corporate conferences, sporting events, government training programs, and more.

**Essential Duties**:
To provide knowledgeable, personalized and safe food and beverage experiences to our guests.

Reporting to the F&B Manager and Supervisor, the position overall is responsible for:

- To accept responsibility for proper guest billing, and to take necessary action in correcting any mistakes.
- To follow all proper opening and closing procedures and reports, to complete all duties necessary to open and conclude a shift.
- Fill side stations are filled with silverware, napkins and glassware
- Set up bussing stations
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of counters, floors, shelves and dish machine in the restaurant
- Clean up spilled food or drink, broken dishes and remove empty bottles and garbage
- Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes and trays
- stock cabinets of serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers
- To ensure equipment and tools are maintained at a high standard.
- Perform serving, cleaning or stocking duties in the restaurant to facilitate customer service.
- Wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths.
- Fill beverage or ice dispensers
- Stock refrigerating units with wine bottles.
- Polish glassware and utensils during and at the end of each shift
- To have a complete understanding and adhere to company policies related to gratuities, as well as fire, hygiene and safety policies.
- To have a complete understanding of the NAV/ SODEXO employee SOPs and adhere to the regulations within.
- To work efficiently, responsibly and maturely as a team with all colleagues throughout the hotel.
- Close the end of each shift by printing the Moneris Batch Printout.
- Close cash with a Close Batch Print and Sign-Out, making a drop at each shift.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties assigned.
- Turn off soft drink, coffee & juice machine (North + South)
- “summer months” Close umbrellas down North + South after lunch and dinner
- Take out alcohol from cabinet at night and end of shift. Put away and make sure it is locked.
- Opening wine bottles: put date on when it was opened Turn light off at Hostess desk at end of evening.
- Clean base of tables at end of each shift.
- Report to supervisor/manager at the end of each shift

**Qualifications required**
- 2 years or less of experience in a similar position in the hospitality industry
- Bilingual - oral and written (French and English)

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cornwall, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- serving: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve (preferred)
