Part Time Cashier

Cashiers have one of the most important front line positions in the company. They are usually the first and last person a customer sees when shopping at Auto Value. With this in mind, these individuals must have excellent people skills, positive attitudes, as well as accurate cash handling abilities. A cashiers main task is the processing of daily transactions through the till including the final processing of held transactions from the parts counter, the selling of products from the retail floor, looking up parts in the computer catalog, processing paid-outs and account payments, daily cash-outs, and attending to customers who may need assistance as they browse the retail area. Other primary tasks include, answering phones, stock replenishing, fronting and facing product, cleaning shelves, floors, windows and product, ensuring the accuracy of, and ordering, signs and labels, display merchandising and inventory counting. As cashiers gain experience they may take on additional tasks such as helping on the parts counter during busy times, delivering parts, or supervisory and training responsibilities.
Previous cashier and customer service experience is a must. Knowledge of the automotive industry is not necessary, however is a definite asset You will also be expected to provide great customer service while being a part of the Auto Value team As an Auto Value employee, you can count on a competitive wage based on experience, and a great health and dental benefit package with eventual RRSP options.
