Supervisor (Facility Maintenance)

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all cleaning staff members, conducting daily inspections of buildings assigned. The supervisor must ensure that employees’ performance in terms of standards of cleanliness, and their behaviours meet or exceed standards. They must ensure that a high-quality janitorial service is delivered to all our clients.

The Janitorial Supervisor must have excellent customer service skills, have a can-do attitude, and must be able to work independently with minimum or no supervision. He or she must be able to travel to different locations through the lower mainland.

The Janitorial Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and works in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager and the Customer Satisfaction Team for continuous client satisfaction, and to support the company’s operations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for locations assigned by the Operations Manager
- Perform building walk-throughs and inspections
- Training and Supervision of new and current employees
- Assign daily direction and worklists to employees
- Assist the management team with employee reviews
- Inspect completed work for conformance to standards
- Make sure the employees follow health and safety regulations
- Attend the weekly Operations Meeting
- Work with management on performance appraisals
- Assist the Operations Manager and HR department with hiring new employees
- Ensuring adequate supplies are available and accounted for
- Client relations, quoting prices for customer and new account set up
- Handle customers’ complaints, concerns, or questions
- Plan and prepare (schedule) employees’ work assignments
- Meet with the Operations Manager for weekly one on one meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 2-years experience in a supervisory role or lead hand will be an asset
- Ability to travel to different locations across the lower mainland
- Good leadership skills and customer relations experience
- Some experience with commercial cleaning
- A class 5 driver’s license with good driving abstract (no major offences)
- Company vehicle will be provided
- A good understanding of SDS sheets and knowledge of health and safety regulations will be an asset
- Have a sense of urgency to complete tasks
