**JOB OPPORTUNITY POSTING**
**POSITION TITLE**:Equipment Operator (mini excavator)
**LOCATION**:Durham Region
**REPORTS TO**:General Manager
**Rate of Pay**: $30-38/hour
**SUMMARY: Total Cable Contracting Inc., is the fibre optic construction division of Vianet, a telecom provider that builds, owns, and operates fibre optic and wireless broadband networks across Ontario and has been in business for over thirty years.**
**POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Operate a mini excavator to trench, splice conduits, install vaults and pedestals etc.
- Read and properly interpret utility locates.
- Safely operate a variety of trucks, trailers and construction equipment as required.
- Assist with other aspects of the fibre optic construction process (HDD trenching, fibre installation etc.) as directed by construction manager.
**EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED**:
- Previous work experience driving and operating a mini excavator.
- Ability to perform physical labour for extended periods.
- An upbeat attitude with a positive approach to work, punctual and reliable
- A team player with the ability to work well with others and assist other field crew members when needed.
- Able to work extended hours as required and, in all weather conditions.
- Ensure safety of job site and maintaining equipment.
- Knowledge of Book 7 an asset.
