We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our growing specialty veterinary team.

**Technical sk**ills required**:

- Prepare and fill prescriptions
- Prepare patient samples for laboratory analysis
- Perform low stress patient handling and optimal care
- Admit and discharge patients
- Educate clients with home care instructions as required
- Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and stored
- Basic computer skills are essential, as there is a great deal of administrative work
- Cornerstone and computer troubleshooting experience is considered an asset
- Follow all SOPs to support smooth hospital operations
- Follow all federal and provincial animal health laws and regulations regarding workplace health and safety
- _Other duties may be assigned as required_

**Soft skills required**:

- Enjoys client interaction and has exceptional communication skills
- Strong desire to learn and excel, self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Attentive to detail; excellent organizational skills

**Qualifications**:

- Veterinary Office Assistant or Medical Office Assistant certificate preferred
- Cornerstone experience and basic computer knowledge are assets

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$26.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:

- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
