**May be located in YUL or YYZ**
The Manager Travel Partnerships will be responsible to develop, manage, grow and be accountable for non-air travel partnerships for Air Canada and Aeroplan. This position will interact regularly with Air Canada's Loyalty leadership team and partners to design, implement and enhance new partnerships and features of the loyalty program for the airline and customers alike.
This person should excel in three key characteristics:
- Have a good experience and understanding of the travel industry, loyalty products and platforms
- Demonstrate experienced business case modeling, financial analysis and ability to translate outcomes into finite recommendations
- Be collaborative, skilled at developing relationships, and enhancing partnerships
- Ability to navigate communication requirements across multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee the commercial direction of Aeroplan's non-air travel partnerships, primarily in the hotel industry
- Perform research and analysis to drive conclusions on preferred partnership arrangements
- Actively engage in business case analysis and commercial modeling to ensure partnerships drive profitability, customer engagement and sustained growth of the loyalty program
- Develop both historic looking and forward projecting models to predict commercial impact of proposed loyalty initiatives
- Use data models to analyze ongoing customer, operational and revenue management data to identify areas for program optimization
- Design the seamless integration and optimization of non-air travel partnerships in our digital customer experience to maximize customer interaction
- Identify new opportunities and partnerships to expand our products to include all aspects of our customer's destination planning
- Provide direction to all internal stakeholders to ensure successful requirements gathering, business process updates, technical implementation and ongoing maintenance of partnerships
- Work with our Products, Marketing and CRM teams to develop focused and relevant campaigns with these partnerships to promote activation and long-term member engagement
- Perform detailed analysis of customer behaviour to best understand how Air Canada and Aeroplan should manage the partnerships, such that enhancements, modifications and marketing campaigns can be accurately defined and implemented
- Develop new ancillary revenue streams by identifying new potential partners, building business cases, and successfully negotiating agreements
- Identify loyalty partnership opportunities and contribute to negotiation of new agreements with future partners across multiple verticals (hotels, car rentals, insurance, airports)
- Stay abreast of customer insights and competitive trends to ensure our partner product portfolio remains relevant and a leverage point for our customer proposition
**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree required with a specialization in Finance, Business, or Marketing discipline preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of business experience in consulting, corporate strategy, key account management and/or financial analysis required
- Strong background in the travel industry and/or loyalty partnerships, programs and products
- Well-developed Microsoft Excel skills required with additional modeling
- Previous experience negotiating with and managing third party vendors
- Established ability leading people across different teams to pursue and achieve a desired outcome
- Ability to translate complex analysis into relevant business terms; experience presenting to various levels of management in an engaging way
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, communicate succinctly, gain consensus and handle complex deliverables within and across organizations
- Strong leadership skills with high ability to lead and influence people
- Self-starter and ability to work under pressure with changing priorities
- Strong awareness of both the airline and loyalty competitive environment preferred
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as required
