The Financial Controller is responsible and accountable for all financial management aspects of Rotork Controls (Canada) Ltd, which includes oversight of day-to-day financial accounting and reporting activities along with the mandate to implement and maintain a comprehensive set of controls focused on risk mitigation and enhancement of financial information accuracy.
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, this person will lead and manage the budget and QPR (Quarterly Plan Review) processes and prepare various reports for management including monthly financial statements, cost variances, associated analysis (monthly, quarterly and year-end) as well as provide business performance metrics.
This leader will be making recommendations to the local management team, Country Leader and Company Group management on objectives, policies and plans wherever financial considerations are involved.
**Qualifications** Experience Requirements**:
- Professional accounting designation and relevant bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce or Business
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Controller, or Assistant Controller; experience in a global, publicly-traded company and/or a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- At least 5 years’ experience leading a team, with proven ability to develop employees and promote a positive working environment.
- At least 5 years’ experience managing budget/forecast cycles
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, experienced in the use of ERP systems.
- Valid passport and ability to travel, primarily within the location of your Country but also internationally when required (approximately 5-10% travel).
- Strong decision making, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Financial and business acumen in order to provide key advice to management and create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and monitor accounting operations and internal control processes to advise on risk and make recommendations for improvements.
