The position of Buyer will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time. This role is a cross-functional position, you will work closely with our sales team and other internal departments to execute tasks with the goal of maximizing sales and minimizing costs. This position is ideal for those who have been exposed to the purchasing function and are looking to expand their knowledge within an organization that encourages learning, growth, and advancement opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:
- Work with Purchasing/Replenishment functions within our ERP software to manage all aspects of assigned product lines.
- Ensure responsible stocking levels on assigned products, while maintaining our industry leading fill-rates.
- Maintenance of product record information to ensure accuracy of purchasing related system parameters.
- Liaison with the sales force to keep up to date on the trends and the needs of the customers when making buying decisions.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders including the Receiving, Accounts Payable, and Sales departments as well as developing relationships with vendors and their representatives.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing Departments, when necessary, on seasonal promotions, pricing and general market information.
- Take initiative in vendor/product returns to facilitate effective stock balancing and inventory level reviews.
- Evaluate any outstanding backorder requirements.
- Follow up and expedite any overdue outstanding purchase orders with vendors.
- Developing expertise regarding the product offering of assigned vendors and product lines.
- Support both internal and external customers with product and sourcing information, expediting, and general customer service support.
- Providing ‘Back-up’ to other buyers for vacation relief.
- Other department related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
**Must Have**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities and various constraints related to supply chain
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and detail oriented skills
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to work independently, with a self-starter mindset - someone who enjoys a challenge
**Nice to Have**
- 1-2 years' previous experience
- Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and/or Pipe Valves & Fittings products
