**Job Summary**
We are looking for an experienced Buyer/ Purchasing Agent to oversee the procurement activities of our company. This role involves sourcing and purchasing supplies, materials, and services for a multi-site building products manufacturer. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day inventory to ensure production teams have the necessary products to meet customer demand. The Purchasing Agent will work to optimize vendor relationships, enhance inventory turnover, and secure high-quality products at competitive prices, ensuring timely and complete deliveries.

**Core Responsibilities**:

- Evaluate and source vendors for materials, equipment, supplies, and services, both existing and new
- Negotiate pricing and terms for materials, equipment, supplies, and services
- Oversee the entire supply chain process from purchase order creation to receipt
- Develop and manage vendor scorecards for performance assessments and reviews
- Maintain and execute the materials plan that aligns with the master production schedule to meet customer demand
- Optimize inventory investment by managing inventory levels throughout the supply chain and providing regular reports
- Ensure inventory accuracy through collaboration with accounting departments via weekly cycle counts, audits, and physical counts
- Manage intercompany material flow between warehouse locations
- Coordinate with production and sales teams to ensure effective material planning and communication
- Collaborate with engineering to source materials and equipment for new projects
- Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders by recommending solutions and alternative supply options
- Develop, implement, and uphold purchasing policies, procedures, and work instructions for purchasing and contract management

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary diploma and/or degree
- SCMP, C.P.P., or CPIM certification is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP systems and MRP tools is required
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and/or Business Central is a plus
- Experience in the metals and/or building materials industry is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

- Metal fabrication: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CPIM, SCMP, C.P.P. (preferred)
