2171449 Alberta Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, Holiday Inn Edmonton South - Evario Events - The First H4 property with Conferencing and Banqueting facilities in Canada with 126 state of the art rooms, Lobby restaurant & bar, a 20,000 sq ft banqueting and conferencing facilities. We are looking for YOU to join our team.

**What’s the job?**

A Laundry Attendant is responsible for making sure the availability of linen items for Housekeeping Department as necessary and to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience.

**Key duties include**:

- Sorting all soiled linens
- Checking laundry chemicals and updating records regularly
- Keeps all laundry and cleaning supplies stocked and stored properly
- Washes and dries linens in correct machine settings
- Folding and sorting clean linens, placed in proper areas
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventories and it’s Par levels
- Following proper procedures of stain spot removal
- Using proper and correct chemicals in treating stains
- Monitoring inventory of stained linens
- Mending damaged linen when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness laundry and Housekeeping storage areas
- Maintain order in laundry and housekeeping storage shelving
- Be environmentally aware
- Dispose of waste accordingly
- Manage guest requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Carry out lost property procedures
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
- Assist in stripping guest rooms when necessary
- Maintains cleanliness of all hotel facilities
- Assist Room Attendants when necessary
- Assist in keeping housekeeping carts clean stocked
- Cooperate and accept other assignments as necessary
- Stocks supplies and maintains inventory levels within assigned area
- Acts as an Ambassador, including making guests feel welcome and handling basic inquiries
- Assist Room Attendants as needed
- Follows established occupational Health & Safety procedures and policies when completing tasks
- Ensures all maintenance and safety hazards are promptly reported to the Supervisor/Manager to minimize hazard risk
- Takes personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times
- Reports any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager
- Other duties as required/assigned

**What we need from you**
- Strength - with the occasional lifting of items.
- Ability to follow instructions and detail oriented.
- Ability to work independently.
- Fitness - you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
- Flexibility - day, evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
