We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated **Casual Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant** to join our team based out of our Long-Term Care Centre at 7404 - 139 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Selects materials and supplies from utility and linen supply room, loads service cart and transports to work area. Returns unused supplies to utility room, cleans cart and equipment.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with designated cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Sweeps, mops, wet washes and vacuums floors.
- Polishes floors using buffing machine.
- Empties ashtrays and trash baskets, and disposes of trash.
- Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment, replenishing dispensable items.
- Dusts window sills blinds, floors and furniture.
- Cleans equipment such as mops, buckets, vacuum cleaner and utility cart.
- Strips, cleans, seals and polishes the floors.
- Porter equipment and supplies as directed.
- Promotes and maintains appropriate and effective communication with other staff and Residents.
- Ensures that equipment, procedures and activities are conducive to a safe environment for Residents, staff, volunteers and visitors.
- Reports unsafe conditions promptly to his/her immediate supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum grade 12 education is required.
- A minimum of one year experience as a Housekeeping Laundry Attendant is required.

**SPECIAL SKILLS**:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Knowledge of the English language is required and knowledge of the Ukrainian of other Slavic languages is an asset.
- Individual must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
