PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Quality Team, the Quality Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager, Engineering and is responsible for the internal aspects of the quality system. Work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems. Working knowledge with SPS,6S 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Involvement with Investigations.- Manage Customer Communication for any Quality related issues- Lead Quality improvements in the plant- Develop root cause Analysis, methodologies using CPK, 5 Whys and Ishikawa & PDCA methodology- Manage Production floor issues- Create and maintain quality control processes for automotive manufacturing.- Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.- Manage all internal and external audits, LPA and process, control plan audits.- Manage CQI-9 and other special audits- Maintain the quality manual, write and update procedures as required.- Supervision of QA inspectors- Keep up to date with the latest quality control tools, techniques, and standards in the automotive industry- Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.- Works in compliance with the company’s Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001/ISO 17025- Perform other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.- Minimum of 1-5 years 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry- Good mathematical and analytical skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Good interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment.- Strong work ethic and organizational skills- Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask.- Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced challenging environment- Work indoors. Environment can be noisy and dealing with different temperatures (i.e extreme heat)- Ability to lift a maximum of 30lbs- Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time- Able to work overtime when required/requested
TECHNICAL & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and high-level of motivation- Demonstrate organized, clear technical report writing skills
