Collection Specialist

**What’s the ask**
The Collections Specialist is responsible for collecting payments on overdue accounts and contacting clients to make collection arrangements. Their duties include reviewing outstanding amounts, notifying clients of overdue payments, and compiling reports relating to collection work.
Specifically, the Collections Specialist will:
- Perform daily operations relating to receivables and following up for timely collection of accounts;
- Document policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility;
- Analyze customer accounts, identify, address and correct issues attributing to account delinquencies;
- Review reconciled premiums billed and collected on behalf of insurance carriers,
- Professional handling of client inquiries, including providing detailed client reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds
- Preparing reports related to collection work
**What does it take?**:
- Completed post-secondary education in accounting/business administration
- 1 or more years of experience in an accounts receivable or collections position
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Experience using Sage 300 accounting software is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Comfortable dealing with customers and company personnel at various levels
- Bilingualism is required (English & French)
