The organization hosts a comprehensive range of specialty and regional healthcare services such as a renal dialysis satellite and telestroke site.

**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive / VP Clinical Services the Manager, the Inpatient and Community Mental Health Manager is responsible for the advancement of nursing knowledge and professional practice to ensure evidence-based, individualized care of patients and families. This position manages an expansive range of Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health Services. The Manager also advances and leads the nursing practice within the program and across the patient care spectrum.

The Manager, In Patient and Community Mental Health provides a coordinated, comprehensive clinical and crisis component of the Hospital’s mental health programs. The Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the work assigned to program staff. The Manager ensures the functions of the programs are aligned to corporate priorities, legislative requirements and best evidence for the provision of mental health and addictions services in the County of Huron Health Best Practices requirements.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelors of Nursing required (BSCN preferred)
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Health Management Diploma and/or degree an asset
- 5-7 years of current progressive, professional experience which includes management and technical aspects
- Canadian Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Certification CPMHN(c)
- Certificate in crisis intervention skills (H.A.R.T or NVCI)
- Minimum five (5) years recent, related experience working in an acute mental health care program preferably in an inpatient setting
- Related experience training in crisis intervention skills
- Extensive knowledge of substance abuse
- Expert knowledge of various acts including Mental Health, PIPEDA, PHIPA
- Extensive experience in case management and leading groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychopharmacology and drug administration

**Responsibilities**
- Ability to proficiently conduct a mental health assessment intervention and appropriately formulate disposition
- Extensive knowledge of inpatient and community mental health and addictions services and treatment supports
- Demonstrated leadership/supervisory ability to manage daily operations; conducting regular staff meetings and providing opportunities for team building and problem solving
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, significant decision making abilities and effective conflict resolution skills in day-to-day management activities;
- Ensures that all policies, procedures and standards related to assigned unit/service areas, are reviewed/revised as outlined by regulatory standards and that clinical policies are evidence-based.
- Demonstrated proficiency in coaching, mentoring, team development, conflict resolution, consultation and interpersonal relationships
- Detail oriented and ability to manage projects; adhere to professional and accreditation standards
- Displays technical and practical knowledge of essential job functions and position
- Teach new processes and act as a resource; and work independently, solve problems, set and meet priorities, and identify opportunities
- Ability to work outside of business hours, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to assume administrative on call responsibilities as assigned on rotational basis
