Fair Catch Fishmongers is a family-owned boutique seafood market on Yonge St. north of Lawrence Ave. in North Toronto. We will sell fresh fish and shellfish alongside prepared seafood dishes. Shopping for seafood can sometimes be an intimidating experience - at Fair Catch Fishmongers we make choosing and buying fish easy and fun

We are looking for a part time fish counter clerk to serve customers and help with product preparation. We’ll provide a friendly work environment, on the job training and opportunity for advancement as we grow our business.

What you’ll do:

- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Advise customers on how to choose the type of fish to purchase, and how to prepare it.
- Cut, portion, skin and fillet fish as required.
- Weigh, wrap and affix price labels to products, ring up transactions.
- Replenish supplies and rotate products in the display counter.
- Assist in prepared seafood product preparation.
- Learn about responsible fishing practices and the various standards and certifications for sustainable seafood.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area and retail storefront.
- Cleans display case, glass, merchandisers, coolers, floors, and cookware as required.
- Follow Food, Health and Workplace Safety standards

Job Requirements:

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience working with fresh fish and a variety of seafood.
- Basic knife skills - ability to fillet fish.
- Able to work in fast-paced environment under mínimal supervision.
- Able to lift 50 lb. boxes.
- Need to be available to work flexible daytime shifts including weekends.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 - 20 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
