Fair Catch Fishmongers is a boutique seafood market with two locations in North Toronto and in Leaside. We think shopping for seafood can sometimes be an intimidating experience - at Fair Catch Fishmongers we make choosing and buying fish easy and fun

We are looking for a part-time or full time fish counter clerk with excellent customer service skills to work in the front of house with helping customers as well as in the kitchen with prepared seafood production. We’ll provide a friendly work environment, on the job training and lots of opportunity for advancement as we grow our business.

**What you’ll do**:

- Advise customers on how to choose the type of fish to purchase, and how to prepare it.
- Weigh, wrap and affix price labels to products, ring up transactions.
- Replenish supplies and rotate products in the display counter.
- Cut, portion, skin, pinbone and fillet fish as required.
- Prepared seafood production, executing made-from-scratch recipes (chowders, crab cakes, etc.)
- Maintains a safe and clean kitchen, work area and retail storefront.
- Cleans display case, glass, merchandisers, coolers, floors, and cookware as required.
- Follow Food, Health and Workplace Safety standards
- Perform full store opening and/or closing routine.
- Learn about responsible fishing practices and the various standards and certifications for sustainable seafood.

**Job Requirements**:

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience (and passion for) working with fresh fish and a variety of seafood.
- Good knife skills.
- Good knowledge of food principles and best practices
- Able to work in fast-paced environment under mínimal supervision.
- Able to lift 50 lb. boxes.
- Must have Food Handler Certification
- Compensation: $20 -$23/hr

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
