We urrently have an opportunity for a Learning & Organizational Development Specialist with our Learning & Organizational Development team. In this role, you must have passion to care for the development of others because they are the ones who care for our community.

**Hours of work**:8:00 - 4:00 pm, 37.5 hours per week. At least 3 days must be onsite.

**How Learning & Organizational Development Specialists support our teams at Grand River Hospital**:
**In this position, you will**:

- Utilize instructional design principles and best practices, technology, and strategies to design and develop instructional materials and courses that support a flexible, customizable, and personalized learning experience for adult learners.
- Create design documents and storyboards for digital learning assets that translate to online and in-person delivery.
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the design and development process for content development.
- Work closely with stakeholders to produce & facilitate sessions.
- Conduct formative and summative evaluations to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions and recommend improvements.
- Work with tight timelines and prioritize tasks to effectively juggle multiple projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest instructional design trends, technologies, and best practices; continually enhancing your knowledge and skills through your professional development.
- Build effective relationships with SME’s/Project Sponsors to ensure that their business needs / objectives are met.
- Consult with internal as well as external stakeholders to manage project milestones and expectations.
- Develop timelines for assigned projects and coordinate activities with other project team members.

**What will your typical day look like? There may be no ‘typical days’ in this role, but there will never be a dull moment as you**:

- Facilitate full-cycle training and education: conduct needs assessment, research, design, create, facilitate and evaluate for Learning & Organizational Development priority programs.
- Co-ordinate projects and learning initiatives across our health care community.
- Facilitate organizational e-learning by coaching SMEs on adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
- Liaise with external education providers and consultants.
- Facilitate the delivery of in-person education and team building experiences.
- Administer the corporate Learning Management System in collaboration with the L&OD Coordinator and respond to learning and development inquiries.
- Facilitate virtual corporate orientation sessions.
- Complete assigned projects using effective project management techniques including: creating project plans, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating project logistics, and providing resources to ensure project deliverables and timelines are on track.
- Actively participate in managing external relationships with vendors to support the coordination and success of deliverables.

**What you will bring to the role**:

- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate)
- Experience with LMS platforms, multimedia design, and web technologies is highly valued.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience in project management while working across diverse teams.
- A background in education, curriculum development, or customer support is essential.
- A high level of initiative and capacity to work autonomously.
- Formal Project Management experience is considered an asset.
- Formal training in Adult Education is preferred.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytic skills.
- Passion for designing unique learning experiences for credentialing and professional development. Experience in the Healthcare Sector is an asset.
