The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) is an arm’s length government agency focused on modernizing Ontario's approach to large-scale assessment. This transformation is part of an exciting mandate to contribute to the continuous improvement of Ontario's publicly funded education system. The agency creates and delivers engaging and relevant assessments for students that lead to further insights into their learning. EQAO is seeking one Website Lead with strategic planning and analytical skills to determine communication concepts and website strategies, problem-solving and reasoning skills to recognize technical issues and identify resolutions, and negotiation and facilitation skills to discuss and coordinate initiatives with EQAO staff and external vendors regarding the development and maintenance of the agency's website content.

What can I expect to do in this role?

**In this position, you will**:
develop and lead EQAO's Web strategy to achieve business objectives and to make the Web experience an excellent one for site visitors
- develop and train staff on governance and guidelines for ensuring the effective and consistent creation, maintenance, and retirement of site content
- monitor and evaluate the use, effectiveness and success of the website to inform its ongoing development (analytics and reporting/analysis)
- develop strategies to optimize and showcase the site's content (UX)
- work with stakeholders throughout the organization and external vendors in the development and maintenance of site content
- approve content readiness and publish content to the site
- actively develop and produce digital content for the site

- to evaluate and determine the best option for presentation on-line

Evaluative Skills

to determine and coordinate the design and development of digital media products and services to meet organization communication needs
- to implement communication approaches to meet specific agency requirements
- to evaluate site effectiveness and digital media strategies against communications objectives, as well as report on findings, develop solutions and make appropriate recommendations to management; and to provide advice on appropriate evaluation criteria, and analyze and summarize performance metrics

Problem-solving and Reasoning Skills

to determine technical problems and develop solutions
- to identify and restore broken links, and add or correct links from website pages to other resources
- to coordinate arrangements with EQAO staff and external/contractors, and to resolve problems
- to determine the appropriate website design, structure and content to effectively promote/communicate EQAO programs/services

Project Management and Organizational Skills

to plan, organize and manage resources to achieve project goals and deliverables
- to plan and lead procurement initiatives
- to adapt to changing plans, priorities and issues affecting work/assignments

Design and Development Skills

to design and code website pages, troubleshoot code, and advise on industry web standards and best practices
- to check links, verify copy to link, and ensure visual identity/appearance is user-friendly

Communications Skills

to develop training material, and prepare business cases, RFPs, contracts, and materials for the website related to complex and/or high-profile EQAO programs/initiatives
- knowledge of communications theory, methods, techniques and planning methods pertaining to website design, mobile/tablet standards, content development and graphics techniques, video production and editing, and social media tools

**Salary Range**: $1,472.25 - $1,801.45 Per Week
