Medical Office Assistant

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Patient Interaction**: Greet patients and visitors warmly and assist them with inquiries or direct them to the appropriate areas.
- **Phone Management**: Efficiently manage incoming calls, direct them as needed, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism.
- **Appointment Scheduling**: Manage the appointment calendar, schedule, and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time slots.
- **Healthcard Verification**: Verify and update patient health card information in the system.
- **EMR Management**: Maintain and update patient records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system, with experience using Oscar and EPIC being beneficial.
- **Administrative Support**: Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
- **Patient Coordination**: Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and coordinate care.
- **Customer Service**: Handle patient complaints with empathy and provide accurate information regarding office procedures and policies.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Minimum of 1 year working in a medical or dental office front desk role preferred.
- **EMR Systems**: Experience with the Oscar EMR system and familiarity with the EPIC hospital system are beneficial.
- **Medical Knowledge**: Understanding of medical terminology and procedures, particularly related to gastroenterology.
- **Communication Skills**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple phone lines.
- **Organizational Skills**: Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
- **Interpersonal Skills**: Ability to work well in a team environment and interact effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
**Additional Assets**:
- **Language Skills**: Proficiency in languages such as Chinese, Tamil, or any other language commonly spoken by our patient population would be a significant asset.
**Compensation and Benefits**:
- **Pay**: Competitive hourly wage of $20.00-$25.00, depending on experience.
- **Benefits**: Free On-site parking, flexible hours with full-time options available.
- **Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday, with expected full-time hours of 40 hours per week.
