Barrie, Canada Salter Pilon Architecture Full time

Act as the architectural representation liaison between the project site and office
- Review workmanship on site for conformance with contract documents and codes
- Proactively achieve design intent through look-ahead meetings for critical subtrades and repetitive activities
- Run construction meetings and take minutes for site meetings.
- Work closely with lead architects and designers to produce schematic design, design development and contract documents
- Provide timely consultations solving problems with contractor and consulting team as they arise
- Respond to requests for information, site instructions, change orders, monthly progress payment certificates, and process contract close-outs
- Communicate with project consultants and engineers to progress design changes and coordination
- Coordinate design activities, and participate in meetings with consultants and engineers as required
- Coordinate with lead designer to complete project deadlines, goals, and inspect drawings for deficiencies
- Coordinate with lead designer and consultants for document coordination
- Review of project budgets, construction cost and proposed change costs
- Review, coordinate and produce contract administration documents including but not limited to shop drawings, site instructions, proposed changes and change orders

**Skills**
- Minimum of 5 years of Contract Administration work with a major focus of being on construction sites and on institutional projects
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Revit and institutional building design in Ontario
- Proficient skills in latest versions of Revit and Auto CAD
- Solid understanding of building systems, construction procedures, OBC with a focus on Part 3 buildings, city by-laws and/or regulations as required
- Architectural or Engineering Degree, OAAAS, or College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management/Administration or another field related discipline
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze pros and cons of various building materials, and design features
- Technical knowledge of Part 3 construction
- Ability to draft architectural floor plans, elevations, sections and detail assemblies
- Proven ability to work independently and cooperatively with other staff members
- Possess a valid class G drivers license with access to a personal vehicle
- Proven ability of complex consultant coordination
- Proven ability to manage the process and review Contract Documents for consistency and completeness, prior to project milestones.
- Experience with different project delivery methods such as Stipulated Sum, Construction Management and Design Build
- Experience with CCDC contracts
- Experience with Newforma project management software is an asset
